Hit the local lake this weekend for some bass action. The water was surprisingly warm at around 68 degrees, and I fished from about 7 AM to noon. Tried out a buzzbait for the first time this year and had a few decent strikes, but couldn't land anything solid. Ended up catching a couple of small ones — maybe a pound each. My buddy was with me, and he managed to hook a nice 3-pounder on a plastic worm, which was a bummer since I was supposed to be the one showing him the ropes!
Overall, not a bad day, but it definitely reminded me to double-check my tackle next time. Anyone else having luck with the bass in your areas? What's working for you?
