I still think about my grandma’s fried okra. It's crispy on the outside, soft inside and somehow that seasoning hit differently than anything I make now, it’s the smell that takes me right back.
 
My grandma’s cornbread still haunts me, some flavors just transport you instantly back home.
 
Grandparents on my mother’s side were from Czechoslovakia. My mother made cabbage rolls filled with meats and rice. Almost 50 years since I had some and I still remember them.

Those are the best memories, its amazing how flavors carry decades of nostalgia.
