Bedding a rifle for the first time is either deeply satisfying or deeply frustrating depending entirely on whether you followed the instructions or trusted your instincts. My advice: follow the instructions!

Before I bedded my first action, I watched a bunch of videos of others doing it. Some go through a very long process to get their desired results while others have a much faster and easier process. I went with the process kinda in the middle and it work out really well. It's really a simple process, but the main thing to remember is not to rush the process.

Trust the instructions, not your “engineering spirit"

Bedding the action, yes/maybe ... bedding the bbl, no - let it free float.

I tried to hurry through mine the first time and it cost me. When I went back and took my time, really followed the instructions, the change was huge, like night and day. You really need to be patient with that kind of thing.
