At first glance, it looks more like a novelty than a serious discipline. Then I watched someone who really knew what they were doing. The speed and control they had with those older firearms was impressive. It gave me a whole new level of respect for the sport.
 
Exactly! It starts as cowboy fun, then you realize it’s precision, speed and skill all rolled into one.
 
It is easy to underestimate it until you see skilled shooters, there’s a lot more precision and discipline than it first appears.
 
I once saw a guy absolutely tear through a stage in just twelve seconds, all with iron sights and a lever action rifle. It was incredibly humbling to watch. He definitely earned my respect that day.

Same, once you see a skilled shooter, it stops being novelty and becomes serious craftsmanship.
