Where was the front sight when the gun fired? If you can't answer that, you can't know where the bullet went before you look. Training yourself to call shots builds an awareness of what happened at the break. Once you have that, you can self-correct without anyone watching over your shoulder.
 
Calling shots changed everything for me, it forces honesty at the break. If you can’t call it, you’re basically guessing and hoping.
 
If you can’t call it, you’re guessing. Once you can, every shot becomes instant feedback without walking downrange.
 
I dunno about "calling shots" ... I don't call them, I MAKE THEM.

And when I don't, I almost always know why a shot wasn't "made" = me.
 
The very first time I actually got one of those, it felt like a light just clicked on in my head. Before that, I was mostly just crossing my fingers and hoping.
