I've had seasons where I did everything right but still did not get a deer. It taught me that scouting improves your odds, but it does not promise you will get one.

Some years the woods just are not on your side. I stopped judging whether I had a good season just by whether I got a deer. The effort still counts because it helps you learn things you can use later.

Sometimes all that effort just educates the animals. They didn’t read your scouting plan.
