Hi folks.... I have heard of people catching stripers in the Delaware.... how far do they run up it and how long? Do they make it to the trenton makes bridge? And what about LBI? Off the side... no boat...

What’s close for you? They do migrate fairly far up the Delaware. The beaches off LBI and many others can produce some very nice stripers also. I sold my Whaler a few years ago so I’m a surf rat now also. I’m closer to the lower Delaware below the Delaware Memorial bridge where bloodworms are the king bait. If I take the drive to the shore Townsend inlet/ Avalon area is kind of where I go mostly because it’s an easy drive for me. Spring time at the shore I normally use fresh clam for bait. Now get your gear and go get a giant.

Yes, they’ll hit Trenton occasionally but LBI is where the shore action usually feels more reliable.

I always go to Barnegat Bay inlet side.... only few stripers I seen taken by swimmers with fish guns in the inlet.... Blues come thru, but never gotten a stripper... which areas on LBI side are good for surf? I have never been in that that area...

North end near Barnegat Light jetty or south at Holgate...focus on cuts, rips and moving water during tides
